Notes
'Dawn' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Dawn') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, Japanese type flowers open carmine-pink in mid season. Cream-colored staminodes with yellow edges fill the center. Dr. Bernard Chow bred it in 2010.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, Wild bergamot, and Sensitive fern.
