Notes

'Delecourt Verhille' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Delecourt Verhille') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant globular blooms open in early summer in white or cream with light pink outer petals and carmine-red flecks. 'Delecourt Verhille' bred it in 1860. The upright, compact plants have dark green leaves and make good cut flowers.

Pairs well with Immortality iris, Aromatic aster, and Western sword fern.
