Notes

'Delicious' apple (Malus domestica 'Delicious') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Jesse Hiatt bred it in 1881, and it is grown for eating fresh. It blooms from early to late spring, which draws bees. Plant a second apple nearby, since it is not self-fertile.

Pairs well with Shasta daisy, Chardonnay grape, and Autumn fern.
