Notes

'Demetrius' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Demetrius') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It stays small and compact, so it fits in tight spaces. The single crimson blooms open from mid to late spring into early summer. Each flower has hairy carpels with bright red tips and a distinct red disk.

Pairs well with Musk mallow, Cinnamon fern, and Pink Impression tulip.
