Notes

Desert zinnia (Zinnia acerosa) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or clay soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It stays 4 to 10 inches tall and has many branches and narrow leaves. White flowers with yellow centers bloom over a long season and attract butterflies, bees, and birds.

Pairs well with California poppy, Fountain grass, and Goldenrod.
