Notes

'Dezhong' peony (Paeonia 'Dezhong') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The semi-double, fragrant blooms are yellowish-cream washed pink, with dark purple flares. Franklin and Angela Chow bred it. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with False indigo, Grape hyacinth, and Big bluestem.
