Notes
'Dione' peony (Paeonia 'Dione') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large, deep pink, double flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The thick stems spread under the weight of the blooms, so you may need to add support.
Pairs well with Fragrant Bouquet hosta, Blue grama, Garlic chives, and Creeping phlox.
