Notes

'Dissecta' staghorn sumac (Rhus typhina 'Dissecta') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Rabbits tend to pass it by. It grows fast, has an open habit, and turns color in fall. Bees, butterflies, and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Witch hazel, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Brown-eyed Susan.
