Notes

'Gro-Low' fragrant sumac (Rhus aromatica 'Gro-Low') is a shrub for pollinator gardens, low maintenance beds, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a low, creeping mat about 18 to 24 inches tall. Yellowish flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Nodding onion, Indian grass, and American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan.
