Notes
'Dreadnaught' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Dreadnaught') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms in mid to late spring with large, single flowers in bright aster purple. The pink disk stands out, and the carpels have dark red tips. The spreading plant holds its flowers well above the foliage.
Pairs well with White snakeroot, Sensitive fern, and Carlton daffodil.
