Notes

'Duc de Wellington' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Duc de Wellington') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Calot bred it in 1859. The large, fragrant blooms open in late spring and have white outer petals with a light yellow center.

Pairs well with Japanese spirea, Blue sage, and Royal fern.
