Notes

White sage (Salvia apiana) is a shrub for borders, xeriscapes, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Silvery evergreen leaves form low mounds, and tall wands of whitish-lavender flowers rise above them. Deer tend to pass it by. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Desert spoon, Elfin mother of thyme, and Capers.
