Notes
Dwarf violet iris (Iris verna) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. It blooms in early spring on short stalks before its leaves start their season's growth. The flowers are fragrant and attract bees.
Pairs well with Wild ginger, Green and gold, and Post oak.
