Notes

'Eagle of the Ninth' peony (Paeonia 'Eagle of the Ninth') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Red double flowers are fragrant and face upward on upright stems that need no support. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Autumn Frost hosta, Blue grama, and Picture tulip.
