Notes

'Early Beauty' peony (Paeonia 'Early Beauty') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows to 30 inches tall and bears single, deep red, fragrant blooms that attract butterflies and bees. William Henry Krekler bred it in 1978. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Golden Tiara hosta, Indian grass, and Picture tulip.
