Notes

'Early Star' peony (Paeonia 'Early Star') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The cupped, light yellow flowers are fragrant, have a yellow center, and age to white. Don Hollingsworth bred it in 1993. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Halcyon hosta, Switchgrass, and Black Hero tulip.
