Notes
'El Dorado' ceanothus (Ceanothus 'El Dorado') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays evergreen and tolerates drought once settled in. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit it. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Mexican orange blossom, Henfield Brilliant rock rose, and Purple top.
