Notes
'Elaine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Elaine') is a perennial for borders, cut flower use, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The white flowers have a Japanese form and open in mid season. Small guard petals are tinted slightly pink, and the long, narrow center parts fade from yellow to white. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.
Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Queen of Night tulip, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
