Notes

'Elizabeth Peninger' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Elizabeth Peninger') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant pink blooms open in early summer and have a loose bomb shape with a silver edge on the outer petals. The stems are stiff and straight, and Col. Jesse C. Nicholls bred it.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Aromatic aster, and Shrub rose.
