Notes
'Ellene Allen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ellene Allen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Huge cream flowers with lemon-yellow highlights open in late spring and age to white. The double blooms sit on arching stems above a dense bush. A few buds may freeze.
Pairs well with Compass plant, Cinnamon fern, and Pink Impression tulip.
