Notes

Emperor's Buttons peony (Paeonia lactiflora Emperor's Buttons) is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms in early to mid spring and grows about 24 inches tall. The cupped, single blossoms are a rich royal lavender with red tips, and they stand up like little buttons. Each stem carries one to three buds.

Pairs well with Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, Royal fern, Pink Impression tulip, and Spanish bluebell.
