Notes

'Erebus' peony (Paeonia 'Erebus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single, fragrant flowers are dark mahogany red with bright yellow stamens, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Wide Brim hosta, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
