Notes

'Eric' peony (Paeonia 'Eric') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its huge, fragrant, orange-red blooms sit on sturdy stems about 29 inches tall and draw bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Dancing Queen hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Stargazer lily.
