Notes

'Esther’s Choice' peony (Paeonia 'Esther’s Choice') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The semi-double pink flowers have paler centers and a mild fragrance, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Paul and Esther Simmons bred it, and the upright stems need no support.

Pairs well with Fragrant Bouquet hosta, Prairie dropseed, Nodding onion, and Limelight hydrangea.
