Esu-gata tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Esu-gata (or Yesu-gata)') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its name is translated as Graceful Portrait. A Japanese breeder developed it. You can cut the blooms for bouquets indoors.

Pairs well with Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, Blue grama, and Heather.
