Notes

'Etain' viola (Viola cornuta 'Etain') is a perennial for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The pastel yellow flowers have lavender edges, are fragrant, and appear in spring, summer, and autumn. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms, and the clumping plants stay evergreen.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Blue grama, and Black chokeberry.
