Notes

'Ethel James' rose (Rosa 'Ethel James') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The short, bushy plant has fragrant carmine-pink blooms with orange-red shading and a yellow center. Bees visit the flowers from late spring to early autumn. Samuel McGredy II bred it in 1921.

Pairs well with Cora Louise peony, Ornamental onion, and The President clematis.
