'Evelyn S. Pierce' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Evelyn S. Pierce') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double flowers have several rows of medium rose pink guard petals that are white at the center and yellow at the base. Few if any stamens show, so each bloom forms a perfect cup.
Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Switchgrass, and Incrediball hydrangea.
