Notes

Evening campion (Silene nivea) is a perennial for woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). White flowers open in late spring and again from early to late summer. The plant grows up to 28 inches tall. It is native to alluvial woodlands, so it fits shady beds near streams or low spots.

Pairs well with Yellow trout-lily, Sensitive fern, and American spikenard.
