Notes

Wild pink (Silene caroliniana) is a perennial for rock gardens, borders, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It forms a slender, compact mound, and one plant can produce 50 to 100 rose-pink, tubular flowers. The flowers sit just even with the tips of the narrow leaves and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Amsonia, and Blue sage.
