Notes

'Excelsa' rose (Rosa 'Excelsa') is a shrub for cottage gardens, specimens, privacy screens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Cerise blooms with white centers age to scarlet from early to late summer. Bees visit the flowers, and the small leaves are glossy. Michael H. Walsh bred it.

Pairs well with Niobe clematis, Stargazer lily, Creeping phlox, and Maltese cross.
