Notes

Bluejoint (Calamagrostis canadensis) is a clump-forming grass for low maintenance beds, ground cover, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Slender stems rise from small rhizomes and carry nodding, branched flower heads. The flower heads look purplish in bloom and turn tan later in the season. The clumps stand up well in winter.

Pairs well with Tussock sedge, Swamp milkweed, Joe-pyeweed, and Dense blazing star.
