Notes

'Filigree' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Filigree') is a tree for specimen, accent, and woodland use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It grows slowly into a broad shape, shows fall color, and tolerates drought. Reddish purple flowers open from early to late spring and attract bees and birds. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Amsonia, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
