Notes

'Katsura' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Katsura') is a shrub for borders, containers, specimen planting, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows slowly into a broad form about 10 to 12 feet tall. The leaves turn color in fall, and bees and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Virginia creeper, Ornamental onion, Primrose, and Bracken.
