Notes

'Sango-kaku' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku') is a tree for specimen planting, accents, containers, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its winter bark turns coral red and salmon in the cold, then lightens to green in summer. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The leaves turn golden yellow with red highlights in fall.

Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Fraser fir, and Ornamental onion.
