Notes

'Fire of Rome' peony (Paeonia 'Fire of Rome') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its early red single flowers are star-shaped and face upward, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Joshua Scholten bred it.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Paprika yarrow, Stargazer lily, and Blue grama.
