Notes

'Fireball' rose mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos 'Fireball') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, rain gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and stands upright, reaching about 47 to 71 inches tall. Deer tend to pass it by. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the summer blooms.

Pairs well with Culver’s root, Big bluestem, False indigo, and Red twig dogwood.
