Notes

'First Light' rose (Rosa 'First Light') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Its single, 3-inch flowers have a darker reverse and purple stamens, and bees visit them. The fragrant blooms come in clusters and are followed by attractive hips. Richard and Ruth Walsh bred it.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Joe Pye weed, and Jackmanii clematis.
