Notes
'Flirt' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Flirt') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, semi-double blooms are wine-red with a gold center. The plant stays low and short. William Henry Krekler bred it in 1977.
Pairs well with Immortality iris, Matrona october daphne, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
