Notes

'Florence' fennel (Foeniculum vulgare 'Florence') is an herb for food gardens, borders, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and wide with an erect habit. The fragrant plant blooms in summer and again in autumn, and it attracts butterflies, bees, and birds.

Pairs well with Thyme, Berggarten sage, and Scotch Bonnet pepper.
