Notes

'Florestine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Florestine') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Berneche bred it in 1924. The plant is large and erect, and it bears numerous single flowers in mid to late spring. The blooms have hairy carpels with cream-colored tips.

Pairs well with Orange lily, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Cinnamon fern.
