Notes

Fourpoint evening-primrose (Oenothera rhombipetala) is an annual for woodland and meadow gardens. Give it full sun to part shade and dry, sandy or loamy soil. Yellow flowers open in the evening and wither the next morning. Each bloom is 2 to 3 inches wide and has four wide petals. Plants bloom best after they winter over, so leave them in place. It grows a taproot, so transplant it when small.

Pairs well with Beardtongue, Partridge pea, and Canada wild rye.
