Notes

'Franz Schubert' garden phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Franz Schubert') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. It forms a clump up to 36 inches tall with fragrant lilac flowers and white eyes. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Little bluestem, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
