Notes

'Ultraviolet' garden phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Ultraviolet') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. Fragrant magenta violet flowers open from early to late summer and again in early to mid autumn, and they attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Spotted joe-pye weed, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
