Notes

'Starfire' garden phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Starfire') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The deep red flowers are fragrant and open from early to late summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blue sage, Little bluestem, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
