Notes

'Freckles' mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia 'Freckles') is an evergreen shrub for pollinator gardens and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows in a dense form, and butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the spring and summer flowers. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Big bluestem, and False indigo.
