Notes

'Freckles' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Freckles') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Dr. John H. Neeley bred it in 1926. The large, full blooms open blush pink with deep pink mottling in mid to late spring and early summer. Stiff stems hold the flowers upright.

Pairs well with Common snowdrop, Prairie dropseed, and Christmas fern.
