Notes

'Fred Couch' peony (Paeonia 'Fred Couch') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It bears fragrant, dark red blooms with many petals that attract bees and butterflies. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
