Notes

'Freda' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Freda') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The semi-double flowers are light pink with white shading, and they smell sweet. Blooms start in early June, with 5 to 7 blossoms on each stem. Ona I. Skeivene bred it.

Pairs well with Lily of the valley, Prairie dropseed, Scentara Double Blue lilac, and False Solomon's seal.
