Notes
'Friederich Appelino' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Friederich Appelino') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Theodor Bernhardi bred this cultivar. You can cut the blooms to bring color into your home. Pair it with smaller perennials in a sunny bed.
Pairs well with Prairie Sun rudbeckia, Arabella clematis, and Cinnamon fern.
